Husky Hair Hats

Working with husky hair has been a dream for Miriam for many,
many years. That dream become a reality in 2007 with the purchase of
her first spinning wheel, a wonderful gift from her husband James.

Carding, spinning and knitting the fur helps develop an
inner peace that wipes away the stress of the work day and wearing
these wonderful creations carry that peace within
them as only natural fibers can.

Each spring our huskies shed the warmth of their winter coat while
we brush and collect the fiber to make our beautiful creations.
We prefer to work with the natural shedding process trusting
that mother nature knows the best time to let go of this precious fiber.
  We do not shave or cut our huskies fur.

Our dogs love to sit for extended grooming sessions.
Shedding time is a highlight for many of our huskies. It is a relaxing time
of bonding for dog and musher alike.

Our kennel's genetic line carries back to the old time freight dogs of the gold rush. They carry the
heavy soft undercoat that allows them to stay toasty warm in the coldest Alaskan winter. This double
insulated coat is perfect for making our hats and will be the warmest garment you will ever own!

Each stage is important and no two hats are ever alike.

Due to the time it takes to create them, our quantities are limited.

through this website and the Yukon Quest cabin in Fairbanks, Alaska.
