The Creation Process

Let us walk you through the logo creation process using a project from our client at the Trails End Sanctuary...

Each custom logo begins in a rough sketch phase.
It's tough to visualize an idea you may have in mind and if it
will work
as a logo until you can see it on paper.
A quick sketch or two based on your ideas gets you
going in
the right direction.

If you're not sure what your logo should look like we are
happy to draft up a few of our own ideas. We welcome and encourage your comments along the way to help make your custom logo distinctly your own.
We stand behind our work 100% and will not be happy with your logo design unless you are. On many
occasions we will throw out numerous ideas and sketches until our clients are positive they have
found just the right one.

** Keeping in touch with our clients each step of the way is a must **
There are many stages where your input can greatly enhance the final design

Once you choose an idea you would like
to work with we move along to the
second sketch where your design
really starts to take form.

At this stage we request a 25%
deposit from our clients...

In this sample our client decided
on a sketch our idea.

Here we start the process of cleaning
and building it up.

A text sample is worked in for the clients approval as
the rest of the subjects in the logo proceed
into
their final clean up stages.

From here the logo enters into the computer where
each line is redrawn creating a vector format.

If you require any changes it is crucial to
make them when your logo is in the previous
sketch phases

Once your logo enters the computer any
alterations to the original design will be much harder to
work in.
As a result you may be charged for the
extra time needed to make adjustments.

As with the sketch process, we send samples of the line
work to our clients as it is created.
Once the final line
work sample is approved it advances into
the color stage.

We are happy to work with any colors you would like to
see in your design, from a complex color pallet, to
gradients and shading.

There is no extra charge for the complexity of the colors
in your logo.

Primary colors and a limited pallet are recommended to
simplify your reproduction needs and keep your costs
down when reproducing the design to t-shirts or banners.

Our client requested additional text to be added at the bottom edge of
their logo. Full color is added
and with the client's final approval this
project is complete!

After final payment has been made we ship our clients a CD
(or email if
preferred) of their final logo in these formats:
________________________________________

JPG = Handy for sharing the image through a web page or email.
A white background is automatically added as a default and
help preserve color settings.

GIF = Preserves line work with a transparent background. Ideal for web
use when the
background color of the page needs to show through.
Color settings on a .gif file are limited and may differ from
original settings shown in the .jpg file.

AI = The Adobe Illustrator (.ai) format is easily used by most printing
companies.
Adobe Illustratior preserves layers and allows for color
changes and other minor adjustments.
A .jpg file should accompany the .ai file for proper color calibration.

We can also export your logo in these formats as well:
SWF, SPL, EMF, WMF, EPS, DXF, BMP, PNG

Most often we will have your logo on file and are happy to email replacements to you at no extra charge.
However there is no guarantee that your logo will always be on our hard drives.

** We encourage all clients to make multiple back ups of their logo design **

Changes to the line work of the logo is strictly prohibited unless prior
approval is given from Lead Dog Graphics

The colors of your logo may be
changed at any time.
Your logo may also be used whole or in parts.

When the final copies of your logo are prepared
we will separate the layers to ease your
use of the logo now and in the future.

Seperating aspects of the design is useful
 for letterhead or websites.

Your customers will easily recognize
your organization or company even if you
have limited space to work with.
